Carol Love joined the Center for Community Engagement as director of nonprofit services in August 2008, following her retirement from Planned Parenthood of the Rochester/Syracuse Region. During her 13-year tenure, she provided leadership for a merger of the Rochester and Syracuse Planned Parenthood affiliates. A veteran of 46 years in nonprofit management, she has served diverse organizations including the YWCA, American Red Cross, Jewish Community Center and Rochester Association for the United Nations.
Currently, she is a consultant specializing in governance, strategic planning, issues management and executive coaching for nonprofit organizations. Her clients include organizations in a wide range of disciplines, including early childhood, health care, housing, youth services, advocacy, and funding organizations.
Her volunteer involvement has included chairing the boards of Geva Theatre Center, WXXI Public Broadcasting, and the Rochester Women's Network, as well as serving in various capacities with organizations such as United Way, Advertising Council of Rochester, Women's Health Partnership, Rochester Area Community Foundation, and Downtown Special Services.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and sociology from Syracuse University and a Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership from Rochester Institute of Technology.
