About Us
MISSION AND VALUES
A measure of a community is the sum of what its citizens give back to it in terms of their time, talent, and heart. The Center for Community Engagement was created to increase this sum for the greater Rochester area. Its mission is to enhance the community’s quality of life by
- Increasing citizen involvement in voluntary community activities; and
- Strengthening the community-based organizations that enable this involvement.
The Center accomplishes this through a strategy of promoting partnerships and collaboration, bringing people and organizations together so that they are better able to achieve community goals. It does not duplicate programs or services, but works through existing organizations, providing them with the assistance and resources to assure their success.
